Post CritiqueThis year took a lot of trials and tribulations, but this project showed that I could make something that was out of my comfort zone. My strongest points during this project was the research that inspired me to do what I did, and the building process was a lot better than past projects. I thought that doing all the research before building would benefit me and it did. All of the research led me to think in different way to approach the project. In my sketchbook, with the help of you, I made thumbnails and different approaches I could make the coral. I somehow chose my weakest point and made it work for me. (Which it turned into my strongest way to approach the project). My other strongest part of my project was how I time managed out my project. Normally 48 hours before I had made my final changes but this time I came in a lot a night and got my work done. Within my first building days I made sure to have all 25 pieces of coral done within two days. With this I took the next two days to crave out each individual one. I took care of the craftsmanship of each one and treated each with care because of how fragile they are. I just like how they came out by how I threw them and then thoughtfully put them together in little groups. On the other hand, my weakest point, or the part I struggled on the most with this project was the texture aspect to the coral. Since they had gotten too dry I had no choice but to leave them as is. I just couldn’t figure how or where to apply the texture because in my research they’re all over them, but in my trial it looked weird and wrong. So instead this is my weakest point because of how I couldn’t apply it to my project. Next year I cannot wait to continue on with my research and making new ideas.
